The machines we hire for
Most of our clients ask for one of three tickets, and the posting will say which. If you are rated on more than one, say so on your application: operators who can move between machines get called first.
- CounterbalanceThe standard sit-down truck. Loading and unloading trailers, moving skids around the floor, feeding production lines.
- Reach truckNarrow-aisle racking work, often to height. Several of our clients run Crown equipment specifically.
- Walkie and pallet jackOrder picking, staging and short moves. Usually paired with general warehouse duties.
Do you need a forklift licence in Ontario?
There is no government-issued forklift licence in Ontario. What the law actually requires is set out in Regulation 851, section 51(2)(a) under the Occupational Health and Safety Act: the operator of a lift truck must be a competent person. The Act defines that as someone with the knowledge, training and experience to do the work safely.
In practice that means the employer is responsible for confirming you can operate the machine, and for keeping a record of that assessment, including which classes of truck you were assessed on and when. A certificate from a training provider is useful evidence and most of our clients want to see one, but the assessment itself sits with the employer.
Our application asks whether you hold a valid forklift certificate and which machines you have run. Answer honestly. A candidate who is rated on a walkie and wants to learn reach is placeable; a candidate who overstates their experience is not.
Pay on the openings above
Forklift roles currently on our board pay $21 to $24 per hour, with the team lead position at $22 to $23 per hour. Each posting carries its own range, because rates move with the client, the shift and the equipment. Ontario requires a pay range on public job postings, so what you see on the posting is what the role pays.
Where we are hiring
Current forklift openings sit in Mississauga, Vaughan, King City, Kitchener and Waterloo, Montreal and Vaudreuil-Dorion, plus one Ontario-wide team lead role. Our warehouse and distribution work is concentrated along the 401 and 407 corridors in the GTA and Peel Region, and in the industrial parks west of Montreal.
New roles come in weekly and the list above updates itself, so it is worth checking back or setting up job alerts.
What happens after you apply
- You submit the application on the posting, including your CV and the short screening questions about shift availability, licence class and forklift experience.
- A recruiter reviews it against the roles we are filling.
- If there is a fit, we call you to confirm the details and walk you through the site, the shift and the pay before anything is booked.
You only ever need to apply once for a role. If you want to be told about new forklift openings as they are posted, sign up for job alerts and choose the categories you want.
