We Staff Canada is hiring Dispatch Support for a transportation client in Trenton, Ontario. This is an early start role on the dispatch desk: getting drivers moving at the top of the day, keeping the board accurate as things change, and staying on top of the paperwork that follows.
The shift
Monday to Friday, 3:00am to 11:30am. Full time, weekends off. The early start is the main thing to weigh up before you apply, and it is also why you are finished before noon.
What you will be doing
- Support the dispatch desk through the morning run
- Check drivers in and confirm loads, routes and delivery windows
- Update the dispatch system as schedules change
- Keep drivers, customers and the warehouse informed by phone and email
- Keep logs, paperwork and records accurate and filed
- Flag delays and problems early so they can be sorted before they spread
What you need
- Dispatch, transportation, logistics or coordination experience, or strong administrative experience you can apply to it
- Comfortable with a 3:00am start, five days a week
- Clear communication on the phone and in writing
- Solid computer skills and accurate data entry
- Able to stay organised when the day changes quickly
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
