Mississauga sits on one of the busiest warehousing and manufacturing corridors in the country, wrapped around Pearson and the 401, 403, 407 and QEW. That shapes what comes across our desk. The mix moves week to week, so treat the list above as the real picture and this as the general shape of it.

Where the work is

Industrial employment in Mississauga is concentrated in a handful of areas rather than spread evenly. Northeast Mississauga and the Airport Corporate district, Dixie, Gateway, Meadowvale and Heartland hold most of the warehousing, distribution and manufacturing space. When a posting names a major intersection or an employment area, that is why.

It is worth checking the commute before you accept a shift. A site that looks close on a map can be an hour away on transit at six in the morning.

Shift work and getting there

A lot of industrial work in Mississauga runs on afternoons, nights or a rotating schedule, and the pay premium usually reflects it. MiWay runs through the employment areas and connects to GO at Cooksville, Erindale, Streetsville, Meadowvale, Clarkson, Port Credit and Lisgar, but early and late service is thinner than daytime service. If you drive, say so on your application, because it widens what we can put you forward for.
