Who part time work suits
Most people who take part time assignments with us fall into one of a few groups. Students who need shifts that work around a timetable. People holding down a second job. Parents working around school hours. Newcomers who want Canadian work history on a resume quickly. And people who want to see what a site is like before committing to full time hours.
Tell your coordinator which days and shifts you can genuinely work and we will match you to what fits. If you decide later that you want more hours, say so, and we will put you forward for full time openings in your city as they come up.
What the work involves
Part time general labour covers the entry level roles on an industrial site. The exact mix depends on the client and the day, but it is usually some combination of the following.
- Loading and unloadingMoving product by hand, on and off trailers and skids.
- Picking and packingPulling orders, boxing, labelling and palletizing.
- Production supportFeeding a line, sorting, inspecting and packing off the end of it.
- HousekeepingKeeping the work area, the aisles and the docks clear and safe.
Part time pay by province
Every rate below starts at or above the provincial minimum wage in force for that province, and our Alberta rates start well above it.
- Ontario$17.95 to $19.95 an hour. Ontarioโs general minimum wage rises to $17.95 on 1 October 2026.
- Quebec$16.60 to $18.60 an hour. The Quebec general minimum wage has been $16.60 since 1 May 2026.
- Alberta$18.00 to $20.00 an hour, well above the Alberta general minimum wage of $15.00.
Where a posting lands in that band depends on the site and the shift. Afternoon, evening and weekend work usually pays toward the top of the range.
