Truck Driver Jobs in Ontario and Quebec

AZ, DZ and G driving work with We Staff Canada, across the Greater Toronto Area, Milton, Greater Montreal and Ontario-wide runs. Every opening below is live right now, with the licence class, the city and the pay range stated up front.

What AZ, DZ and G actually mean

Ontario licence classes are the first thing a dispatcher asks about, and the postings above name the class they need. Straight from the Ministry of Transportation:

  • Class AAny truck or tractor-trailer combination, including where the towed vehicle is over 4,600 kg, and double trailers.
  • Class DA truck over 11,000 kg gross weight, with a towed vehicle not over 4,600 kg. Class D also covers Class G vehicles.
  • The Z endorsementRequired to drive anything with air brakes or air-over-hydraulic brakes. That is what turns an A into an AZ and a D into a DZ.

So an AZ is a Class A with air brakes, which is highway tractor-trailer work. A DZ is a Class D with air brakes: straight trucks, waste collection, local and regional delivery. A G covers cars and lighter commercial vehicles, which is the class most of our courier and light delivery clients need.

The runs we staff

Our transportation clients fall into a few patterns, and it is worth knowing which one a posting is before you apply:

  • Local and regional DZHome daily. Straight truck work around the GTA and Montreal, including waste collection routes.
  • Cross-border AZLong haul into the United States. Needs a clean abstract and the paperwork to cross.
  • G class deliveryLighter vehicles, multi-drop routes, usually within one city.

What to have ready before you apply

Drivers move faster through our process than any other role, provided the paperwork is in order. Have these to hand:

  1. Your licence, with the class and any endorsements clearly shown.
  2. A recent driver abstract. Clients ask for it, and it is the single most common reason a placement stalls.
  3. Your CVOR abstract if you have one.
  4. For cross-border work, the documents you need to enter the United States.

Our application asks which licence class you hold. Put the exact class, not just "truck licence". A DZ applying to an AZ posting wastes everyone's time, but a DZ who says so plainly gets matched to the DZ work we are also filling.

Pay on the openings above

Driving roles currently on our board pay $22 to $31 per hour. Cross-border AZ sits at the top of that range, local DZ in the middle, G class at the lower end. Every posting carries its own range, because rates move with the client, the route and the hours. Ontario requires a pay range on public job postings, so what you see on the posting is what the role pays.

Where we are hiring

Current driving openings sit in Milton, Mississauga, Toronto, Vaughan, North York and Montreal, plus Ontario-wide waste collection work. Our transportation clients cluster along the 401 and 407 corridors and around the Milton and Mississauga intermodal terminals.

New runs come in weekly and the list above updates itself, so it is worth checking back or setting up job alerts.
